Our spring adaptive hike went so well, we are returning for an autumn hike! We are partnered with Sunnyview Hospital (Albany) for a fun day using our Action Trackchairs on an adaptive hike at Saratoga Spa State Park. Again, a big Thank You to the Park Rangers who helped us work out the 1 hour trail loop through various park terrain. Please contact the hospital to register.

Team SOAR Experiences is excited to attend AccessAbility Day at Push To Walk Gym in Montvale, NJ. Come down and learn about their facility and the different programs attending vendors offer.

We began our annual event with Wheelers For The Wounded New Jersey and ELKS Veteran Services in 2018, and are excited to host our 2024 event at NORA’s 75 acre off road training facility in Ellenville, NY. Veterans will take the passenger seats in rigs from several off road clubs and enjoy wheeling on NORA’s vast terrain. The Elks provide breakfast and a BBQ lunch. Space is limited and registration is required. More registration details coming soon, if you are a veteran and would like to attend this fun event let us know.

We are excited to be at the Abilities Day Celebration and will have an Action Trackchair and GRIT Freedom Chair at the event!

We are excited to join our friends at Individual Abilities In Motion at their Off Road Adapted event in Bear Creek Village, PA. We are excited to run an adaptive hike with Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital at beautiful Sam’s Point Preserve. While we will be working with many of their patients, we expect to have a few spaces open to the public however you must contact us to register before the event day on Tues 9/24, Rain Date Thu 9/26

We are excited to attend Burke’s Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month Mobility Expo, where we will talk with community members about our SOAR Experiences offerings.

July 2024 - A HUGE shout-out to Marist College DPT program for choosing SOAR Experiences as the recipient of their fundraising for their 2024 Olympic Games! It was great meeting the students, faculty and informing them of our goals and efforts to help others. They will be onsite at our Fall Open House to present us with the result of their efforts. Thanks again Marist!!!!

In 2023 and 2024 our friends at Empower Spinal Cord Injury invited us to bring an Action Trackchair to their event at Stonybrook University to complement their hand-cycling activity. Yes, we found a hill to climb!

May 2024 - Our Executive Director, Scott Trager, participated on a webinar panel hosted by American Trails and delivered live to 600+ participants across the United States. Scott discussed how our SOAR Program began along with considerations for running an adaptive hiking program. April 2024 - Team SOAR presented to medical school students about the health benefits of adaptive outdoor activities, and how these activities provide overall better outcomes for patients. We also showcased some of the adaptive equipment available at our facility.

March 2024 - A fun group event with Burke Rehabilitation Hospital guests at our Ellenville facility. Adaptive hiking, airgun marksmanship and off road passenger ride-alongs.

March 2024 - We were thrilled to be part of staff member Jessica Brand’s Masters Thesis presentation at Iona University. Jessica presented research which shows the correlation between outdoor adaptive recreation and improved patient outcomes.
